out of our control
wesayitoutloud is going to be sporadic for the next 2 weeks. We will update when the issue is resolved. We are having technical difficulties with our internet provider. This is out of our control. Hopefully it won’t be longer than 2 weeks.
Our internet has been out for 2 days. We called on Thursday, when it went out. They are unable to send a repair man for 2 weeks. One would think this is 1942 and not 2022. Frontier Communications is our internet provider. THEY SUCK!
Yesterday we bought a mobile hotspot. It works good enough to keep us semi up and running. It is costly.
We have had many internet issues here with Frontier over the years. We went through 3 modems in as many months last year. It may be the modem again this time. Honestly, we have had this modem work for a year. That’s the longest we have ever gone with Frontier.
Frontier wants its customers to be the repair man
We are not techy people. It’s frustrating because when you call, they tell you do this and do that. After wasting an hour of everyone’s time, they need to send a repair man. When the repair man comes, he’s frustrated. He says he doesn’t know why they have customers do this and that because the customers end up making the problem worse. Well we are not repair men. One has to jump through the hoops and do as told in order to get the repair man. If you don’t, they say they can’t send one. If we knew how to fix our own internet we would and wouldn’t need to call them in the first place. It’s such a vicious circle.
Yesterday afternoon, we got a message that they internet went out in our area. We are now in an outage area. Funny right? I had an outage of my own for over 24 hours prior to the rest of the town or towns, depending on the size of the outage. This morning we got another message. They fixed the outage in our area. I needed to let them know if we still needed a repair man. I responded yes. Another message comes saying thanks for letting them know and they will message me after rescheduling my appointment. So because they had an issue not related to mine, I now have to get my appointment rescheduled. God only knows how long it will be until we ever see a repair man at this rate.
we are avoiding calling again
When you call Frontier Communications for anything, you are looking at around a minimum of an hour of your life lost for ever and ever. Sometimes you are on for several hours as they tell you things you need to do, like your some kind of toy they are playing with. Yes that’s right hours. And seriously, a minimum of an hour. It’s a joke!
Why not get rid of Frontier you ask?
This is a very good question. Numerous times we have talked about capitalism and free enterprise here. We are in a rural area. We have 2 options in our area. You get Frontier Communications which is maybe a step up from the old dial up. Our internet comes through landline phone lines. Constant problems for everyone. Option 2 is Comcast or Xfinity now I think it’s called. We had them for years. The price went up and up. Comcast tells you to bundle. Get your phone, internet, and cable all from the same place and your bill will come down. Makes sense that 3 things are cheaper than 1 or 2 right? The problem is, after a year it goes up and up and up. You call every year in the hopes of trying to get your bill down. When we left Comcast it was like we hit the lottery. It literally freed up a ton of money. We moved to the first option of Frontier Communications and now live stream everything. We have used only live stream for years now. It is great!, but only when the internet works.
Now we do have the option of 2 satellite companies but that would be for television. Even the 2 dish companies will tell you that their internet is not very good. We have a child homeschooling. We need internet that works.
pro free enterprise
Free enterprise and capitalism allows businesses to compete. We need that in America. Our foundation is based on that and the American dream. This is what happens when you have no competition or very little. The 2 companies have you locked in. You have to pick the lesser of 2 evils. They have a monopoly in this area and it sucks.
So now we went and spent money on this little mobile hotspot device. The device wasn’t all that expensive. It’s the data now that is costly. Kids use internet for everything even in households without livestreaming all their programming. Games equal a ton of data. We have homeschool and college classes all online. wesayitoutloud is always online. The device works great and if data didn’t cost so much I would get rid of Frontier Communications. There is the problem. They got you and they know it. This is why wesayitoutloud is so pro free enterprise and capitalism. It effects us directly. It effects you as well and you probably don’t realize it. All the liberals out there that want all this government control will be horrified when they realize how their life is effected without free enterprise.
